THE GOOD NEWS FOR SICK AND DYING. BY TRYPHON MABANZA

Why is someone's death always a kind of scandal? Why does this so natural event awaken as much curiosity and horror among those who witness it? Since there are men and who die how the mortal is not accustomed to this natural phenomenon yet always ineluctable? Why is he surprised every time a living man disappears as if it happened every time for the first time? Yes, death is an exile that will never cease. The living are alive only on condition of being mortal, and it is very true that what does not die does not live. Without death life would not deserve to be lived. Cursed be life without death. Death is a daily reality. Is there good news for the sick and the dying? The Bible speaks of a time when, for those who love God, "death will be no more and there will be no mourning, no cry, no pain" (Revelation 21,4).In the perfect kingdom of God, death will be definitely and eternally suppressed. And for those who are sick today? Whether we are sick or in perfect health, we will all die one day. Normally nobody wants to die. Jesus understands the sadness and anguish of suffering and death. It gives us hope for an endless life after life. He declares himself to be the ultimate
life and can only be freed from our mortal condition if we have faith in him, that is, if we repent, turn to God and believe in his word and in his son : "I am the resurrection and the life, he who believes in me even if he dies will live, and whoever dies and believes in me never died" (John 11: 25-26).Those who believe in God can always be affected by diseases and are always subject to death but they have the assurance of the resurrection upon the return of Jesus Christ. Therefore there is no need to sadden us "like others who do not have 'hope' (1Thessalonians 4,13).
